2011/2012 year's New Year skiing was one of the best in years. More than a full meter of fresh powder had arrived and despite not ideal weather conditions we had several days of great off piste skiing. Due to the high avalanche level some of the best runs couldn't be skied (like the right red line below) however great "forest" runs and one of my favorite slopes (left red line below) from 2400m down to 1300m with a vertical drop of more than 1100m to the Rastkogelbahn was again a great experience. The Bergland Hotel we stayed in took very much care of our little Franz and as usual we were highly satisfied. Below you can find a selection of the best pics including my big favorite run...:

As a consequence we are going again over New Year's Eve. Dont book Moscow Munich due to high prices but try to fly via Berlin or Frankfurt to save some money...
