WELCOME TO MICHAEL GERMERSHAUSEN
The winter season of 2016 was going start with a trip to Russia's Siberia. Tickets for booked to Novokuznetsk and hotels booked. Usually Sheregesh has plenty of snow at the end of November, however this year snow arrived later. So we changed tickets to Caucasus and flew to Mineralni Vodi instead.

Some of the first riders of the season, we opened the slopes on Mt. Elbrus. Some hiking was necessary to get to powder and some of the impressions you can see below.

Travelling to Terskol is now much more comfortable as the main highway to Nalchik has been modernised. Unfortunately, due to the current political situation there are more road blocks as usual, which meant we got stopped more frequently.

We stayed as usual at the Povorot Hotel. Unfortunately, service level has dropped. We only learned post factum that the Banja/Pool now has to be paid extra and when you arrive in November it has to be prebooked. Also the fridge in the room which serves as a mini bar ran out of drinks on the first day. As a compensation the total price for 3 people in the room and 3 nights was only 13,500 RuR...

The new cable car from Mir station to Bochka (the mountaineering camp) is physically ready and apparently awaiting registration so hopefully for the New Year holiday it can be used already.

All in all nothing has changed, service levels are pretty low compensated by stunning scenary, views and round the year skiing. And of course it needs to be mentioned that the best Schashlik on the planet...
